Keys to Success

Structured for Success
FFA believes the key to academic success is personal attention, small class size, customized programs, and a nurturing, structured environment that does not allow a student to slip through the cracks. To insure success, students are assigned both academic and residential mentors that guide and monitor progress. As college is a goal for most of our students, guidance counseling is available to assist in college planning and placement.

Academic Success
FFA students are steered toward improved academic performance through clear expectations and on-going monitoring. Students are immediately held accountable when their performance does not meet expectations. To support day-by-day academic success, students participate in nightly study halls, 5 nights per week. In addition, customized and private tutoring is also available.

To insure that all students are well-informed and meet expectations, class assignments are posted in the dormitory each evening. Students taught to keep homework and activities log.

Extracurricular Success
To support physical and social development, students are also expected to participate in structured extracurricular programs, daily and on weekends. Activity selections include interscholastic sports, intramural athletic programs and leagues, recreational programs, exercise, social clubs, and student government. All students are monitored to insure attendance and participation in selected extracurricular activities. Because the FFA campus offers numerous recreational activities, the incentive offered by earning a reward of free-time fun is also in our arsenal of motivators.

In addition to group-oriented activities, private lessons and instruction is also available.
