Family First Academy, Traditional Coed Boarding School for Grades 8-12
Welcome to the Family First Academy (FFA)*, an affordable, traditional co-ed boarding academy for grades 8-12. As our name implies, we focus on strengthening students and their families, helping to raise a generation of physically, emotionally and spiritually strong individuals. Family First Academy can help your child excel academically and physically in a nurturing, structured, positive, boarding school environment. Our modern, safe, 120 acre co-ed campus, located in Erie, Pennsylvania, provides a college preparatory education in a traditional boarding school setting that is fully integrated with a wide range of athletic, leadership and recreational programs.
At Family First Academy, students will grow in a nurturing environment that combines structured guidance and support with self-reliance, personal development and discovery. Challenging academics, small class sizes, attentive staff, and a close-knit community, all combine to provide an ideal learning environment for both domestic and international students.
We serve students of all races, religions, nationalities and levels of academic ability. By combining a traditional college preparatory curriculum with an integrated athletic and fitness program, we offer a unique and structured boarding school environment designed to facilitate student success.

Classes Coming this Fall
Beginning this fall (2009-2010 school year) Family First Academy will offer more than 8 new AP Classes, including: AP Calculus, AP Biology, AP English Language & Composition, AP English Literature, AP US Government, AP US History, AP Art History and AP Micro/Macro Economics. The new classes will be offered as part of an online curriculum that will offer professional support from both an in-classroom administrator and a certified teacher, who will interact with students on a weekly basis, grade all exams and homework assignments and communicate with students personally about their progress. This unique AP program boasts a 5-7% increase in test result scores over the traditional classroom format, has over 100,000 students using the program currently and is certified by a college board.
New Internship Program
The campus of Family First Academy hosts some of the top regional and national sports/events in the country and as a result, beginning on April 20th, FFA students will be able to gain valuable insight and hands-on experience in areas like event management, event marketing, finance/accounting, sports administration and graphic design through a new internship program that is being piloted for the Spring and which will be launched for the
2009-2010 school year.
These internships are currently being considered for elective credit and are the kind of “new” criteria that many top colleges are looking for when it comes to evaluating the applications of
“well-rounded” students who are now expected to have more to offer than just a high GPA.
We are certain this new internship program, which is unique to the Academy, will give our students the edge when it comes to being successful both on and off the playing field as well as in the classroom and in the community.
